#AGGF2018 Event: Green Growth Technologies Exchange

Session Overview The global problem of environmental degradation has forced society to rethink development and advance the concept of green growth. Indeed, new environmentally friendly technologies are fundamental to attain sustainable development.

As part of the Africa Green Growth Forum, a green technologies event will be held as platform to exchange experience on green growth technologies and those that foster climate resilience. The event will examine how green technologies can be scaled up and aims to build partnerships to promote green innovations across Africa. The event will boost South-South cooperation and North-South sharing of technologies. It will focus on the uptake and upscale challenges and opportunities, as well as tools to overcome green technology bottlenecks.

Objectives

The Africa green technologies event will bring together innovators, green technology companies and experts to share knowledge and best practices on green technologies across the continent. Specific objectives include:

  • Provide a platform for participants to share knowledge and experience on environmental friendly technologies to achieve sustainable development in Africa
  • Build partnership to scale up green technologies and advance efforts to foster green growth and mitigate climate change
  • Promote investment in new technologies that support green growth
